Bernice Mabel Davidson

1930 — May 30, 2022

On May 30, 2022, Bernice Davidson ended her earthly journey and left us to join her heavenly father and family who have gone on before her. For 92 year’s and 3 days Bernice filled her days with teaching, adventure, health, happiness, and worship.

Born in Belhaven, Ontario, daughter to Dave & Daisy Davidson Bernice grew up with her family at the Belhaven General store.

She was a public-school teacher for 54 plus years, teaching every grade with specialities in Phys-Ed and Art as well as being Sunday School and Bible Camp teacher at both Keswick Christian & Maple Hill Baptist Churches.

Her baking skills will be missed with the most incredible pies and sweets made without effort. (Probably due to the pounds of sugar and butter that filled her baking treats!)

Bernice loved jewellery, so much so that in her retirement she joined the team at Hempen Jewelers in Newmarket and cherished her workdays surrounded by the most beautiful diamonds.

It was her lakeside little cottage that brought her the most pleasure and pride, it was the gathering spot for Bible Study, Friday Night Girls, Sunday Lunches, Davidson Corn Roast, and Birthday Parties for all of us. Claimed to have the most beautiful sunsets, Bernice could be found sipping a hot tea on the dock of her little piece of Lake Simcoe.

Never having children of her own; all her nieces and nephews become her adopted children, from playing general store in the basement, tea parties, the swings at Indianola Beach, Sunday School. Bernice continued to teach us with kindness and affection.

Her greatest gift shared with all of us was her love that will continue to be felt in all of us as we say goodbye:

Beloved sister to the late Robert & Patricia Davidson, the late Irvin & his surviving wife Marion Davidson, the late Bill & his surviving wife Louise Davidson and Beth & the late Ed Baiden.
