John Kor

1958 — May 11, 2019

John Kor (Johnie Korycki), Woodville, ON, passed away suddenly in Keswick on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at the age of 60 years, due to a heart attack.

John was an accomplished artist and businessman. Over the span of his lifetime he taught art, produced significant art works including a series of paintings that portrayed the mining industry in northern Ontario, owned and operated multiple businesses in the arts, custom framing, screen-printing, restaurant industry, communications and marketing, fund development, consulting and business development. Over the years, John combined his three pillars in life - the arts, business and social – and applied his knowledge and skills to business development for non-profit organizations and small business start-ups. John dedicated his time and energy to what he felt was most important, helping Indigenous individuals and communities achieve improved social and economic situations.

Johnie was the dearly loved partner of Susan Wilson. Predeceased by his mother Janina (Krywyn) Korcyki. Dear big brother of Ann Mary Korcyki (Yvan Clavet). Loving Uncle of Stefan and William Clavet. Son-in-law of Tom and Phyllis Wilson. John will be missed by his extended family, including Leah Taylor and Jesse Taylor, Cameron Taylor and Javion Romelus, along with so many dear friends here in Canada, from the United States, and his worldwide colleagues and friends.
