Bill was born in Cheltenham, England on February 22, 1940, as William Leslie Potts.
Bill married the love of his life, Ann (nee Baker) in 1960 in England and they sailed to Canada two months later to start their life together in Ontario. Bill and Ann spent a few years in Scarborough then moved north, up to Queensville in 1969 where they built their beautiful home and raised their family of 4 children.
Bill worked at the North York Board of Education for many years as an electrician and a maintenance supervisor.
A man that always loved riding his gold wing motorcycle, Bill was a longtime member of the Retreads Motorcycle Club, Ontario Northern Triangle Chapter out of Orillia.

He was a longtime president and volunteer of the North Union Community Centre where he worked tirelessly to ensure the center remained a vibrant and welcoming space for others. He was also the founding father and the initial president of the East Gwillimbury 55’n Up Club, another testament to his dedication to fostering connections and creating spaces for people to come together, something that continues to have an impact today.
