Mercedes Bauld

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mercedes Bauld, who passed away peacefully on August 2, 2023, at Southlake Regional Health Centre, Newmarket, at the age of 63. Dear wife of Garry for 37 years. Sister to Eloyd, Marjorie (Howard), Theresa (Angus), Johnny (Barb), Rhona, Jenny (Doddy), Wanda (Loman), Judy (Danny), Anita (Allen), Lisa, Anne Marie (preceded by), and Jamie (preceded by). Loving Mother to Chris and Cindy (Dylan), and Grandmother of Nathan. Predeceased by her parents Joseph and Bridget. Her warmth and kindness touched the lives of everyone around her.

Mercedes was the pillar of strength and selflessness right up until her final day. She dedicated her life to ensuring the safety and well-being of her family and always put the needs of others before her own. Her unwavering love for her family and friends was evident in everything she did.

Mercedes loved company and had a contagious laugh that was a gift to brighten the lives of all who knew her. Friends and family would often find themselves laughing along, unable to resist the pull of her lighthearted spirit. Even in the toughest times, Mercedes' laugh and sense of humour served as a reminder to find joy in the simple things and to spread positivity to others in every cheerful giggle.

Mercedes had the remarkable ability to fill a room with positivity and make everyone feel welcome. Her legend lives on through her children and grandchild, who will cherish the lessons she taught and the love she showered upon them. Her presence will be sorely missed, but forever treasured in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.

Following Mercedes's wishes, a celebration of life will be held at a later date for family. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Stronach Regional Cancer Centre through the Southlake Foundation, as thanks to Mercedes' medical team, who provided unwavering care and comfort to Mercedes.
