Girl Guide Commissioner with over 50 years of service, past member of Belhaven Women’s Institute, Keswick Firefighter Ladies Auxiliary, Horticultural Society, devoted member of Keswick United Church, volunteer at Georgina Food Pantry and recipient of the Provincial Volunteer Service Award. Peacefully joined her Lord on Monday, October 5, 2015 at Spencer House, Orillia at the age of 87 years young. Predeceased by her parents Vera and Les Herdman and her brother Earl (Yvonne) Herdman. Survived by children Julia (Doug) Nicholls of Orillia, Les (Joan) Fairbarn of Barrie, Teresa (Fred) Johnston of Orillia and Tim Fairbarn of Orillia. Loving Grandmother of 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Sister-in-law of Mabel and the late James Wight. Visitation from the M.W. Becker Funeral Home, 490 The Queensway S., Keswick 905-476-7711 on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 from 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service in the chapel on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Queensville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Georgina Food Pantry or Keswick United Church would be appreciated.
