Caine, Joseph Dennis
Peacefully at Riverglen Haven Sutton, surrounded by his family on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 in his 92nd year. Predeceased by his loving wife Dorothy Caine (2007). Treasured and much loved father of Susan Caine and Sara (Tony Forsyth) all of Keswick. Cherished grandad of Jordan, Justin, Mackenzie and Findlay. Dear brother of Maisie Biggs, Joan Perry and Lillian (Brian Gollings) all of England.
Dad enjoyed a long and fulfilled life. He was a Rolls Royce mechanic, served in WW2 on board the aircraft carrier HMS Glory witnessing the signing of the Japanese surrender in the South Pacific and the repatriation of POW’s, moved to Canada in 1969 with Dorothy and 2 young daughters and enjoyed living on the shores of Lake Simcoe for more than 40 years. Dad was a devoted soccer fan, but embraced Canada’s hockey game quickly becoming the Toronto Maple Leafs biggest fan despite never having played the game himself. Dad was passionate about his family, gardening and puttering in the garage. Dad was always ready with a quick wit and loved a good laugh. Joe will be greatly missed by his many family and friends in Canada and England.
