John Cameron Mair, age 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, September 24, 2024. John was predeceased by his beloved wife, Heather Mair (nee Marr) (1996) and is survived by his loving children: John, Suzanne (Terry), and Christopher (Amanda). He was a cherished grandfather to Hunter, Dawson, Cameron, Alexandra, Taylor (Sasha), Zachary, Jordan, and Riley, great-grandfather to Thomas and the newest addition Lennox.

John was known for his generosity and kind, sensitive heart, always willing to help those in need. He had a great sense of humor and loved to share stories and engage in lively debates. John was an entrepreneur, owning several businesses throughout his life, including the Diana restaurant in Midland, Ontario, and was a prominent figure in the courier industry until his retirement at 65. He was born in England and lived there during the war until he came to Canada in the late 40’s, he often shared vivid memories of his childhood experiences.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Southlake Regional Health Centre, with special thanks to Dr. Nick Giftochristos, for the years of compassionate care.

John's memory will forever be cherished by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Georgina Food Pantry and local homeless shelters, reflecting John's lifelong commitment to help others.

Dad will always be remembered as the guy who would give the shirt off of his back or the last dollar in his pocket to someone who needed it more.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
