It’s with both sorrow and with joy mingled that we share the passing of Ina early in the morning of April 14th, 2025. Sorrow in the physical separation, yet overwhelming joy knowing she is out of pain, healed, and more alive than ever before in the presence of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, whom Ina served so faithfully through most of her 93 years.
Born and raised in Belfast, N. Ireland, Ina enjoyed a happy childhood, even during the dark days of World War 2. Born to loving parents, Norman and Mina Hunter, with siblings, Sylvia, Norma, Ivan and Roland. In her mid teens, under the preaching of W.P. Nicholson, Ina accepted Christ as her Saviour. She went on to become involved in full time Christian work, joining The Faith Mission and later The Church Army where she would meet her sweetheart and future husband, Ken Weaver. Ina and Ken had many, fruitful years serving God and sharing the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ in the U.K., the U.S. and Canada. Both were examples of living out your faith and of God’s faithfulness to us even when we make mistakes. How God blesses a penitent heart and does more than we can imagine!
Ina wasn’t just a “Mum” and a “Grandma” to her family, she was a dear friend to all of them. Quiet and gentle by nature, loyal, trustworthy, a great encourager and interested in what was going on in your life. She thoroughly enjoyed times with the family, with friends, going for coffee, getting together to watch “footy” (soccer) and ready to cheer on her favourite team, Liverpool F.C. Even at 93 yrs of age, Ina was savvy with her cell phone and we all enjoyed ‘WhatsApp’ chats, texts and photo sharing with her. During the worrying and trying times of life, no matter how small and seemingly insignificant, Ina would bring all to God. No matter circumstances, she always brought it to the Lord. Her prayer life was so rich and deep that we’re convinced Hell’s foundations quivered when Ina prayed. Her knowledge of the Bible was also so very rich, it was so very evident how much over the years she had 'hidden God’s Word in her heart’.
Both Ina and Ken are deeply missed by their 3 children, Ron (Wendy) of Keswick, Pamela (Greg Hutchings) of Keswick, Mary (Tom Rinehart) of Longwood, Florida. The Grandchildren: Stephanie Weaver (predeceased), Sarah (Matt Fisch) of Keswick, Caitlin (Matthew Liberty) of Queensville, Matt Sandford (Sarah) of Tampa, Florida, Andrew Weaver (Micah) of Huntington, West Virginia, Josh Hutchings of Keswick and Rachel (Davis Harbin) of Maitland, Florida. Great-grandkids; Rogan, Isaiah, Grant and very soon to be joining, baby Sandford. Also, much missed by her family in Northern Ireland whom Ina loved dearly.
Ina and Ken’s legacy of faith in Christ has been instilled in their children and grandchildren. They would rejoice knowing that legacy continues into the young lives of the great grandchildren.
Miss you both so much but looking forward to the day we all meet again in the presence of Jesus!
