Jan Dekker

Born in Amsterdam, Holland; John passed away after a short and courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, August 27th, 2013 at the age of 87. John will be deeply missed by his wife Celina of Keswick with whom he shared almost 63 years of marriage. Predeceased by his parents Catharina (nee Bargmann) and Jan Dekker. Also, predeceased by both his sister Johanna and brother in-law Gerard Anemaet. Dear father of Vic, Clark (Lynn) and Brian (Gladys). Predeceased by his son Ron and daughter in-laws Gail and Pennie. Opa to Ray (Nienke), Jenepher and the late Don. Over Opa to Mara and Joah. John will also be sadly missed by his extended family and friends both here in Canada and in The Netherlands. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Jim (Keswick), CCAC and Nurses as well as the PSW care givers for their excellent care and compassion. At John’s request, there will not be a visitation or funeral service. If desired, donations made to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
