Gerhard Brinks

It is with profound sadness that I share the news of Gerhard Brinks passing at Margaret Bahen Hospice, Newmarket ON, on September 17, 2024 at the age of 71 years. Gerhard is survived by his spouse, Cindy Jowett-Brinks, who will forever cherish the memories and love he shared with her. Gerhard is predeceased by his first wife Heather. Loving dad of Tim (deceased), Jason (Pauline), Brian (Cori), Katie (Matt). He is a proud grandfather of Colin, Norah, Macie, Brayden and Blake, He came from a large family with 9 brother and sisters; Gunther (deceased), Peter (Lisa), Linda, Marion (deceased), Terry (Jenny), Susan (Jamie), Eric (deceased) and Steve (Penny) and has many adored nieces, nephews along with many life long friends. Born in Bornholm, Denmark, on March 5 1953, Gerhard’s life was marked by his love for water, his passion for boating, and his joy in life's simple pleasures. Known for his positive attitude and nature, Gerhard loved telling his many stories of his adventures and keeping everyone entertained. Gerhard loved traveling across the waters, navigating from Tobermory all the way south to Key West, enjoying all the waterways and towns along the way. Gerhard could often be found at various locations or beaches in Florida, enjoying the tranquility of being by the water. Gerhard was such a bright light for everyone who knew him, and we will miss him more than words could ever express. His legacy of kindness, humor, and dedication will live on in the hearts of those he touched. Special thanks to Toronto General Transplant Team and Major Mackenzie Hospital as well as their dialysis units. Celebration of Life will be May 25, 2025 at the Roc in Georgina.
