Eedi Sutt

1938 — March 19, 2015

It is with great sadness and memories to last a lifetime that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Eedi Sutt on Thursday, March 19, 2015 age 76 in Sutton, ON. He left this life holding Lisa's hand and being told how much he was loved. Devoted husband of Aili Sutt and father of Lisa Sutt. Son of Mihkel and Maria. Survived by his siblings, Linda Vahi, Leida Sepp, Endel Sutt and Charlie Sutt. Born in Estonia. Ed emigrated with his family to Sweden when he was 8, and then to Canada through Pier 21 when he was 11, living first in Lawrencetown (Valley), NS and then Toronto, ON. Ed was an alumnus of Ryerson (Electrical Engineering) and Central Tech. He worked for De Havilland, Douglas Aircraft, McDonnell Douglas and Boeing for his 39 year career, as an Inspector as well as a Planner. He upheld the specifications of the planes he worked on with the utmost rigour. His dedication to aviation safety was unwavering. Ed was notably intelligent. He invented and tinkered. He always had parts and tools on hand. His active mind was always interested in how things could be improved or re-imagined. Ed had a passion for photography and video. He passes on over 30,000 slides, and hundreds of hours of video. He documented family events and vacations with zeal. He was always interested in the latest camera, even in his last year. Lisa now carries the torch. Ed loved Florida. Having many family vacations with his Mother, brothers and sisters, wife and daughter over the years, he was happiest there. He enjoyed biking and walking everywhere he went. In his last days Ed's wish was to remember a "perfect day". Lisa recounted many days that were shared in Florida. Ed also enjoyed visiting his Sister Anna and family in Long Island, NY annually. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Eedi’s Life will take place at a later date.
